MEMBERSHIP

All Nurse Practitioners are welcome and encouraged to join us. It is an extraordinary organization for NP students, new graduates, and experienced Nurse Practitioners to network at our meetings. Your membership in the Nurse Practitioners of Northeast PA is a means of advocating your role, both professionally and politically. Please consider joining us today for professional networking, peer support, regular educational programming, employment sharing opportunities as well as legislative, practice, and educational updates. We look forward to seeing you and welcome your participation. Become an active member of the NP's of NEPA!

The NP's of NEPA are proud to be one of the 17 regional group members of the Pennsylvania Coalition of Nurse Practitioners. Benefits and accomplishments of the PA Coalition of NPs include:

  • Hiring of Lobbyist - 1997
  • Prescriptive Authority obtained - 2002
  • Sole regulation by the Board of Nursing for NP's - 2002
  • Signatory authority obtained for disability plates/placards - 2004
  • Collaborative agreement for prescribing with an Osteopathic Physician - 2005
  • Establishment of PCNP web site and member list serve
  • Medicaid numbers obtained for CRNP's - 2006
  • Signatory authority obtained for Utility shutoff - 2006
  • Sponsorship of statewide annual NP Conference
  • Expanded role for CRNP's proposed by Governor Ed Rendell
