The Nurse Practitioners of Northeast PA began as a local grassroots effort. Founded in 1980, a small number of Nurse Practitioners would gather at their residences to discuss issues affecting the
profession of Nurse Practitioners at the state and local levels. This arena also provided an opportunity to exchange information and ideas as well as networking. Over the years, the association increased
in membership and developed into a recognized professional organization. Now, with over 150 members, the Nurse Practitioners of Northeast PA continue to act as a forum for exchange of information, promote
educational programs, and provide a medium for the examination and discussion of legislative topics.
